ICA’s Legacy
What We Do
Since our founding, ICA’s work has seen tremendous successes with companies that have not only done well on paper, but also become shining examples of a healthy Bay Area business ecosystem. These companies will always be part of ICA’s legacy. We are proud to have worked with them, and continue to look to them to forge the path for many successful entrepreneurs.
However, in refining our approach, ICA’s understanding of the meaning of “impact” has changed. Thus, we will no longer be reporting on the aggregate data of companies that had been longstanding members of the ICA Portfolio. Going forward, we are building the next cohort of Good Job creators. Starting this year, we are choosing to report only on the cohort of companies that received Capital Preparation and Talent Management support in 2014. We believe that this approach will allow us to better, and with full integrity, capture the work we do each year, highlighting the growth of the companies that we directly partner with, and holding ourselves accountable to doing good work year after year.
Our mission has remained unchanged. Our model, while still very similar to our previous approach, focuses on the companies that are fully and truly committed to our mission of creating Good Jobs and providing opportunities for those that have historically been left out of the workforce. In this regard, we are laser-focused on our mission, and we are holding ourselves to a higher standard than ever regarding what it truly means to make an impact.
