The Model

Visionaries like Keba Konte embody the future of the ICA family. A seasoned entrepreneur, artist, and founder of Red Bay Coffee, Keba and bold business-owners like him, are helping us to fully realize what our model can (and should) do for Bay Area communities.

Keba has a proven track record as a good job creator. As the owner of multiple cafes, he has created dozens of local jobs. With the launch of each new business, Keba’s entry-level employees have been cultivated and given opportunities to attain new skills and be promoted into new positions. Keba has a personal commitment to hiring people facing high barriers to employment, which pushes him to find new ways to create opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities. Keba has worked with ICA since 2011, and our relationship has evolved with each new business venture.

Today, our Business Institute’s Growth Strategies course is filled with entrepreneurs that meet a profile based on Keba’s: those who are committed to creating opportunities in their communities for people who have historically been left out of the good jobs created in the Bay Area. With this commitment comes great potential, and ICA’s new model is designed to nurture that potential in the most strategic and impactful way possible.
